Samantha Scott is a principled conservative, a lifelong Sumter County resident, and a proven leader who gets things done. The daughter of a U.S. Navy veteran and the proud mother of a first responder, Samantha’s commitment to service runs deep – rooted in faith, family, and love of country. Now, she’s running to represent the people of Sumter and Hernando counties in the Florida House, bringing with her the hometown values and tireless work ethic that define Florida’s conservative core.
For more than two decades, Samantha has been a successful business leader, job creator, and community advocate. She made history as the youngest Executive Director of the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce, where she doubled membership and tripled sponsorship revenue. She has since built a thriving career in real estate – earning recognition as a multi-million dollar producer – and currently manages marketing for her family’s business, Mike Scott Plumbing. Her business background gives her a firsthand understanding of the challenges local families, entrepreneurs, and job creators face.
A trusted ally of President Donald J. Trump and Governor Ron DeSantis, Samantha has worked closely with Florida’s top conservative leaders to defend freedom and uphold traditional values. Governor DeSantis appointed her to the Lake-Sumter State College Board of Trustees, and she proudly served as a Florida delegate to the 2024 Republican National Convention, casting her vote to nominate President Trump. As Chairman of the Sumter County Republican Executive Committee, Samantha led the county to record-breaking turnout in back-to-back elections – for both Governor DeSantis and President Trump. In addition to leading the Sumter County GOP, she chairs the Republican Party of Florida’s Moms Coalition and is on her second term as Vice Chair of the Congressional District 11 Caucus. Through these roles, she’s helping advance a bold, unapologetic conservative agenda across the state.
From her time leading countywide tourism efforts to serving as a member of organizations like the Sumter Youth Center, Farm Bureau, and the Sumter County Fair Association, Samantha’s record of service reflects a deep love for her community. She understands the unique needs of both rural and growing communities across District 52, and she’s ready to be a strong voice for them in Tallahassee. Samantha and her husband Shawn live in Bushnell. They are blessed with five children and two grandchildren.
Now, Samantha is ready to bring her energy, experience, and conservative principles to Tallahassee—fighting for local families, defending our constitutional freedoms, and ensuring our shared values are represented in the Florida House.
